Water service has been restored in the Village of Delta following repairs to two 2" water main leaks, according to Delta officials.
Officials said one leak occurred at the Riverbend Apartments on Ouachita Avenue and the other on St. Martin Street, causing water to be turned off to repair the lines.
A boil water advisory remains in effect until test results are returned from the state laboratory, officials said. Water samples are scheduled to be sent for testing on Jan. 27.

The ownership and financing of Meta's giant data center in northeast Louisiana needs more scrutiny from state regulators, according to environmental advocates who say the structure increases the risk for utility ratepayers.
Environmental law nonprofit Earthjustice asked the Louisiana Public Service Commission on Wednesday to investigate whether the newly disclosed structure of the campus under construction in Richland Parish weakens protections promised to customers of Entergy, the New Orleans-based utility building the infrastructure needed to power the massive project.

Louisiana parishes would have a say in how carbon capture and sequestration projects are approved and developed in their jurisdictions under bills filed by Rep. Mike Johnson, a Republican who represents Pineville and serves as acting House Speaker in the state legislature.
“These bills are about fairness, property rights, and respect for local voices,” Johnson said in a statement. “No private company should have the power to force a family off their land, and no community should be sidelined when decisions directly affect their parish.”
