A Vicksburg man was arrested Monday following a vehicle pursuit that began in Tallulah and ended near the village of Delta, according to the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were assisting the Tallulah Police Department on Jan. 12 while searching for a person involved in an altercation at Blooms Apartments when Deputy Berry observed a suspect vehicle traveling east on U.S. Highway 80, the sheriff’s office said.
When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused, leading to a pursuit that exceeded 100 mph, authorities said. As the vehicle approached Delta, it encountered a Delta marshal. The suspect vehicle drove toward the marshal and continued east, according to the sheriff’s office.

The pursuit ended when the suspect attempted to turn, lost control and slid off the roadway. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot before being taken into custody by Deputy Berry, authorities said.
Deputies located a backpack that had been dropped by the suspect. A search of the backpack found a 9mm pistol, an AK-47-style rifle, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspect was identified as Kaleb Davis, born Nov. 21, 2003, of Vicksburg. He was transported to the Madison Parish Jail and booked on charges of flight from an officer, speeding, aggravated assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, illegal carrying of a weapon, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged by the Tallulah Police Department in connection with the incident at Blooms Apartments.
Sheriff Chad Ezell said he was happy that no one was injured and that deputies were able to bring the incident to a close.
