Public-to-public transfers, sometimes called open enrollment or portability, are not robustly used. The policy is not a panacea. It can be a lifeline for hardship, though.
Forty-six (46) states, plus the District of Columbia, allow a student to transfer from the public school they are assigned to into another public school. Mississippi is among them.

The Tallulah Academy varsity boys and girls basketball teams continued district and non-district play through late January, with each program completing multiple games on the schedule.
The Tallulah Academy boys opened the season on Dec. 2 with a 75-23 loss at Discovery Christian. The Trojans returned home on Dec. 8 and lost 83-28 to Prairie View Academy. On Dec. 11, Tallulah Academy fell 61-19 at Mt. Salus Christian in district play.
