A winter cold front expected to push temperatures into the mid to upper 20s this weekend has prompted the Office of the State Fire Marshal to urge residents to test their smoke alarms as part of cold-weather safety preparations.
The agency said many residents are familiar with protecting the traditional “four P’s” during freezing weather — people, pets, pipes and plants — but officials are emphasizing a fifth: press.

A Charlie Brown Christmas. It is an absolute classic when it comes to Christmas movies, especially if you are part of Generation X.
It evokes memories of times gone by when there was a special feeling of joy, happiness, excitement, and general childhood wonder during the holiday season.

The phrase "there is a set time for everything" comes from the Book of Ecclesiastes, which states that life is composed of different seasons and cycles, with a "time for every purpose under heaven."
This concept suggests that all activities, from joys and sorrows to creation and destruction, occur in their own designated time, which is beyond human control and is part of God's divine plan.

“When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get” (Matt. 6:2, NLT).
