Hondo was born August 28, 1949, in Hidalgo, TX and has lived in Madison Parish since 1951. He worked at Weston House, Grand Gulf, and retired from Yellow Freight after 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Alejandro Saldana and Florencia Lopez Saldana, sister Angelita Saldana Hernandez and brother in-law Larry Bridges.

Sydney R. Thomas, Sr.

Sydney R. Thomas, Sr., 92, of Vicksburg, MS, and Tallulah, LA, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. A man of faith and service, he was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School and Alcorn State University, and a U.S. Army veteran who served at Fort Monmouth and in Korea.
Sydney earned a Master’s in Biology and Chemistry and spent many years teaching at Temple High School, McCall High School, and General Trass High School. After retiring, he continued serving his community as owner of Thomas and Sons Janitorial.

Bradis worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved flower gardening, dancing, and her annual trip to Branson with her sisters before they passed.

Edward was a Vietnam veteran and served his country proudly. He retired from Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel as a dredge boat captain after 35 years of service. Ed loved going fishing and hunting with his kids and grandkids, and he loved watching his LSU Tigers and Dallas Cowboys.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Methodist Church of Tallulah. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 am, with services at 11:00 officiated by Reverend Henry Stone.
