A hard-fought rematch with the undefeated, and defending state champion, Briarfield Rebels ended with the Tallulah Academy Trojans falling just short of a third state title in six years Friday in Jackson, Miss.
The Trojans got on the board first with a 32-yard touchdown scamper from Carter Sullivan to put TA up 6-0 early in the first quarter. The Trojans traded scores with the Rebels in the first half and trailed just 20-12 heading into the halftime break.
Despite the strong start, TA would ultimately be unable to put out the flames fueling a 346-yard, five-touchdown performance form Rebels' quarterback T.J. Baker, as TA fell shy of the win in a 46-34 loss.
