Police departments investigate shooting

On March 29, 2025 the Tallulah Police Department and the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office was dispatched for a reported shooting of a 17-year old female in the area of Henderson Street around 4 a.m. Upon arrival in the area law enforcement officials learned the young female had been struck while in her room.

On March 14, 2025 the Madison Pariah Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the U S Marshal Service who. Requested assistance arresting a wanted person who was at the Madison Parish Hospital. Kerry Sterling was wanted out of Jefferson Parish for Accessory after the fact to Manslaughter and Tampering with an Electronic Surveillance Monitor.
