(Mon., Jan. 15) -Average gasoline prices in Louisiana have risen 5.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.72/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 2,436 stations in Louisiana. Prices in Louisiana are 10.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 16.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Martin Luther King celebration set for Sunday afternoon

The Martin Luther King Day activities in the City of Tallulah will take place on Sunday afternoon.
The parade is set for 2 p.m. and begins at Tallulah Elementary School.
Lineup for the parade begins at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Man arrested in connection with Christmas shooting

In connection with a shooting at the Sportsman’s Super Stop in Tallulah during the early morning hours of Chistmas Day, Daquarius Barber turned himself in to the Tallulah Police Department.
Barber was arrested on a warrant for principal to second-degree murder on Jan. 2. He was released on a $100,000 bail.
