Regular Council Meeting
City of Tallulah
October 23, 2025
A regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council was held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 5:30 P.M., in the Council Room Chamber of Tallulah City Hall.
Mayor Yvonne Lewis called the meeting to order, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and gave prayer.
A roll call of Councilmembers is listed as follows:

To welcome citizen input, a period of time was allowed for comments or questions regarding items listed on the agenda, but there was none.
Motion and second to approve minutes of the October 9, 2025 meeting were made by Councilmembers Houston and Day respectively and carried.
Section 8 Administrator Merunda Brown presented a report concerning current events of the City’s Section 8 Program including the latest HUD information directives.
Discussion was held concerning city boundaries and possible effects on voting in several districts. It was agreed that action should be taken to begin the corrective process of identifying districts and making proper changes to boundaries. Professional assistance of a geographer would be required.
Mayor Lewis led a discussion on what should be done with the historic Coke Cola building. Should it be sold, or should it be made into something that could generate revenue if possible? Councilmember Wells spoke up for the latter and stated that he would talk with Coca Cola officials about possible ideas regarding the building such as rehabilitation. Mayor Lewis called attention to a proposed ordinance in each packet addressing the sale of a historic building and asked that the City Attorney and Council review it and offer any changes they deem necessary.
A cooperative endeavor agreement with the Parish to ultimately raze a structure and replace with a parking lot for the parish was discussed, and City Attorney Pamela Crews was instructed to move forward with legal measures with the Parish to accomplish the project.
Mr. Antonio Wilson submitted a letter to the Council which would be a part of the minutes.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned on motion and second of Councilmembers Houston and Harris which carried unanimously.
