Turner enjoys being in New Year's parade

Madison High School junior cheerleader Kaitlyn Turner called being in the New Year’s Day parade in downtown London, England a “once in a lifetime experience.”
Turner and her mother, Angela Claxton, took the trip to London, and were able to see different sites and learn about the culture.

Madison High School drops two games in Caldwell tournament

The Madison High School boys basketball team faced some of the toughest competition of the season in the Caldwell tournament, according to Coach John Holmes.
The Jaguars (13-5, 1-0) lost to Red River 50-47 on Dec. 29, 2023, and Winnfield 62-46 on Dec. 30, 2024.

Man arrested in connection with Christmas shooting

In connection with a shooting at the Sportsman’s Super Stop in Tallulah during the early morning hours of Chistmas Day, Daquarius Barber turned himself in to the Tallulah Police Department.
Barber was arrested on a warrant for principal to second-degree murder on Jan. 2. He was released on a $100,000 bail.
