Gas Prices Up 95¢ in One Month

Average gasoline prices in Louisiana increased 33.4 cents per gallon over the past week to $3.36 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

Prices in the state are 95.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 69.0 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Madison Parish School Board Approves 2026-27 Calendar

The Madison Parish School Board approved the 2026–27 school calendar during its March 16 meeting after adding the item to the agenda at the start of the session.

Superintendent Charlie Butler said the calendar was selected by teachers through a vote and received support from a 90% majority.

6 Arrested in Madison Parish Interstate Operation

The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint multi-agency operation on March 13 on Interstate 20 in Madison Parish.

The operation lasted four and a half hours. Six individuals were taken into custody on charges. Two of those individuals were wanted on felony charges in other jurisdictions.
