A pair of locals are facing drug and weapons charges after a host of law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at a home in Tallulah last week.
According to information from the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, forty-year-old John Lee and twenty-three-year-old Ajuania Hicks were taken into custody Thurs., March 17, after MPSO deputies, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Louisiana State Police troopers executed warrants at Lee’s home, located at 800 South Walnut Street. MPSO officials said a search of the home uncovered cocaine, digital scales, supplies believed to have been used in the processing of powdered cocaine into crack cocaine and Ecstasy tablets.

Officials said a separate search warrant executed on vehicles operated by Lee and Hicks uncovered a gray backpack containing: approximately 4 kilograms of powdered cocaine; two firearms; approximately a half pound of marijuana; approximately $10, 800 in U.S. currency; approximately 55 grams of crack cocaine; approximately 19 grams of Ecstasy; and, a pill bottle containing numerous dosage units, including: Alpazolam (schedule 4 narcotic), Hydrocodone (schedule 2 narcotic), Sildenafil (legend drug), Oxycodone (schedule 2 narcotic), Clonazepam (schedule 4 narcotic) Cyproheptadine Hydrocodone (legend drug), Nortriptyline Hydrocodone (legend drug), Nortiptyline Hydrocodone (legend drug) and unknown yellow dosage units.
Hicks
MPSO officials said law enforcement made contact with both suspects during separate traffic stops prior to the execution of the search warrants, where officials said Hicks consented to a search of her vehicle, which yielded a large amount of narcotics, a large amount of money and two firearms.
MPSO said both suspects were seen by a surveillance team leaving the Walnut Street residence prior to the execution of the search warrants. They were subsequently arrested and transported to the Madison Parish Jail, where they each were charged with possession of CDS 1 with intent to distribute (marijuana), possession of CDS 1 with intent to distribute (Ecstacy), possession of CDS 2 with intent to distribute (cocaine/4 kilograms), possession of CDS 2 with intent to distribute (Oxycodone), possession of CDS 2 with intent to distribute (Hydrocodone), possession of CDS 4 with intent to distribute (Alprazolam), possession of CDS 4 with intent to distribute (Clonazepam), three counts of possession of Legend Drug, possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, proceeds involving drug transactions and conspiracy to distribute CDS.
Following the arrests, Madison Parish Sheriff Sammie Byrd said he would like to thank his deputies, MPSO narcotics investigators and all law enforcement officers with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, the LSP, FBI and DEA for their work in the investigation, execution of the warrants and arrest of the suspects. Byrd also said he would like to assure the public local law enforcement is doing everything in its power to combat drug use and distribution in Madison Parish, adding taking drugs and dealers off the streets reduces not only drug offenses, but also violent crime, including theft and burglaries.
