President Rev.Oscar Hamilton called the regular board meeting of the Madison Parish School Board to order on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Madison Parish Training Center (Board Meeting Room), 600 Bayou Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana by asking for a moment of silent prayer. The audience recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

President Reverend Hamilton added items (l) approve monthly quotes for lawn service at the schools Tallulah, Madison and McCall School and (m) consider the estimate May sales tax supplement. On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Ms. Hamilton items was added to agenda. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Ms. Hamilton, the board voted to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mr. Wilson, the board approved item(b) to approve the bills for payment. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs.Gultery and seconded by Reverend Fountain the board approved item (c) the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of March 20,2023 and Finance/ Insurance meeting with Facilities/ Transportation meeting of April 4, 2023. Motion carried.

Item (e ) Presentation of Academic Progress by Superintendent Butler.
On motion of Mrs.Gultery and seconded by Reverend Fountain the board approved item (f) approval of Superintendent’s contract. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Gultery the board approved item (g) Approval of the 2023-24 Instructional Calendar. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Crawford the board approved item (h) approval the 21st CCLC Afterschool and Summer school staff receive the same rate of pay as the individuals who work for the Canopy Program Afterschool and summer from summer 2023 until the duration of the grant which ends August 2027. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs.Gultery and seconded by Mr. Wilson the board approved item (i) consider bus drivers to pay $500 of the now $2000 deductible for accidents and damages that staff is at fault. Motion carried.
On motion of Mrs. Crawford and seconded by Mr. Wilson the board approved item (j) Consider contract for new Accounting Firm. Mrs. Hargrave opposed. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Hargrave the board approved item (k) Consider resolution to create a Globally Sustainable and Technologically Innovative Ecosystem. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Gultery the board approved item (l) approved monthly quotes ($1800) for lawn service at the schools Tallulah, Madison and McCall School. Motion carried.
On motion of Reverend Fountain and seconded by Mrs. Crawford the board approved item (m) consider the estimate of May sales tax supplement. Motion carried.
