Fire departments from Delta and Tallulah responded to separate incidents on Friday, June 27, including a truck fire in Delta and a structure fire outside Tallulah.
At 3:18 a.m., Delta Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the Lions Den in Delta for an 18-wheeler fire. Delta Engine 1 arrived at 3:28 A.M. and found the cab of the truck fully involved. According to the department, the fire was brought under control within approximately seven minutes.
Tallulah Fire Department’s Engine 11 arrived on scene at 3:35 A.M. to assist. Tallulah personnel helped ensure the fire inside the cab was fully extinguished. The load of lumber being hauled was not damaged.Later that evening at 10:49 P.M., the Tallulah Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the area of Teddy Roosevelt Road.
Bear Lake crews arrived first, followed by Tallulah crews, who found a vacant structure fully engulfed. Water supply was established and the fire was contained shortly after.The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.Volunteer firefighter positions remain open with the Tallulah Fire Department.
