Two wrecks on Interstate 20 slowed westbound traffic for much of Thursday, beginning with a collision near Tallulah.
According to the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, two 18-wheelers collided west of the Tallulah entrance. The trucks became stuck together, and it took time for crews to separate and remove them from the roadway. An ambulance responded for one of the drivers, though no major injuries were reported.
The crash caused westbound traffic to back up from Richmond through Tallulah and extend toward Millhaven in Monroe for most of the day with traffic at a slow moving pace.
Later, Louisiana State Police reported a second crash involving two vehicles in Richland Parish. Both westbound lanes were closed while recovery crews worked to clear the site. State police later confirmed all lanes had reopened.
