A local radio program reported this week that Carroll High School will name Levi Washington as its next head football coach, though Madison High School officials say they have not received formal notice of his departure.
The K104 Downs Law Friday Night Scoreboard Show posted on Facebook Tuesday, July 29, 2025, that Carroll will appoint Washington to the role. According to the report, Washington coached at Madison High School the past two seasons and previously led the Jaguars from 2014 to 2017. He guided the team to its most recent winning season in 2015. He would replace Marvin Williams, who was dismissed earlier this month, and become Carroll’s sixth head coach since 2021.
In a statement Wednesday, Madison High School Principal Perry Revels said no resignation or vacancy notice had been submitted to the school.
“Although social media outlets have been reporting the naming of a new head coach at Carroll High School, an official notification of a vacancy has not been received by my office,” Revels said. “If a vacancy does transpire, a decision will be made in the upcoming days regarding who will lead our Jaguars for the 2025-2026 athletic season.”
