April Walker of Newellton graduated from the Sixth Judicial District Drug Court on Nov. 4 at the Madison Parish Courthouse.
Judge Laurie R. Brister presided over the ceremony, which marked Walker’s completion of the program and transition to sober living.
The court serves participants from Madison, East Carroll and Tensas parishes, offering supervision, treatment and accountability for individuals seeking recovery through the judicial system.
Brister congratulated Walker on completing the requirements and encouraged her to continue applying the lessons learned during the program.
The Sixth Judicial District Drug Court meets twice a month and was created by the Legislature in 2021 to provide rehabilitation opportunities for eligible participants.
