The Village of Delta Board of Aldermen discussed equipment needs, waste management during its recent meeting.
The board heard updates on fire trucks. Officials said the village’s existing truck is deteriorating underneath, and they had to opt to use a fire hydrant over the truck to fight a recent fire.
The board considered the purchase of a fire truck. The vehicle would have less storage space, but is a necessary purchase.
On waste management, the board discussed the village dumpster. Members said they may need the parish to empty it more frequently. The board discussed taking over the dumpster and moving it to a fenced location. According to the Madison Parish Police Jury, they are currently responsible for paying to have the dumpster emptied.
The board discussed changing an ordinance to update the pricing for failing to keep residents property up to village standards. They announced a letter would be mailed to all residents and property owners.
