MINUTES OF MEETING
The Village of Delta Mayor and Board of Aldermen in Delta, Louisiana held its Regularly Scheduled meeting, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM at the City Hall in Delta. Present were Mayor Ruthann Vercher, Council Members, Kathy Davis, Stephanie Edleston, Brian Panquin and Clerk, Susan Peterson.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to dispense with the reading of the minutes from the last meeting. Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
Council Members reviewed the Expense Reports and Budget for the Month of May 2025.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve bills paid for May 2025. Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve the budget for General Fund for FY 2025-2026.Yeas 3 Nays 0_ Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve the budget for Street Fund for FY 2025-2026.Yeas 3 Nays 0_ Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve the budget for Fire Department Fund for FY 2025-2026.Yeas 3 Nays 0_ Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve the budget for Drug Fund for FY 2025-2026.Yeas 3 Nays 0_ Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve the Madison Journal as the official Journal for the Village of Delta for the period beginning July 01, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026.Yeas 3 Nays 0 _ Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve John Crigler for Village of Delta City Attorney FY ended June 30, 2026.
Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
Council Member Davis made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve David Beckham to attend the LACP Conference in Baton Rouge from July 14, 2025 Through July 17, 2025. Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
Council Member Panquin made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve looking into changing the scope of the $25000,00 LGAP grant from City Hall Improvements to Purchasing a Police Vehicle. Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
Mayor Vercher gave Council Members an update on the progress of the Street Improvement Grant.
New Business:
Council Members agreed to do sealed bids on the selling of the Village of Delta Excavator.
Council Member Panquin made a motion seconded by Council Member Edleston to approve a pay raise for all employees effective July 1, 2025. Yeas 3 Nays 0 Motion Carried.
