VILLAGE OF DELTA
BOARD MEETING
March 17, 2026
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF DELTA HELD its Regular meeting at Delta City Hall on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Present were Mayor Kathy Davis, Council Members Stephanie Edleston, Brian Panquin and Clerk Susan Peterson.
Council Member Edleston, made a motion seconded by Council Member Panquin, to Dispense with the reading of the minutes from the last meeting held on February 17, 2026. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Members reviewed the Expense Reports and Budget for February 2026.
Council Member Edleston, made a motion seconded by Council Member Panquin, to approve the bills paid in February 2026. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Members accepted the bid from JJ Merchant on the 2017 Dodge Charger.
Council Members rejected the bid from JJ Merchant on the 1998 Heavy Rescue Truck.
Council Member Edleston, made a motion seconded by Council Member Panquin, to approve getting a credit card for the Village of Delta. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
Council Members made the decision to wait until April Meeting to make a decision on what to spend Grant Monies on.
Council Member Edleston, made a motion seconded by Council Member Panquin, to approve Gulf State Engineering to do Annual Preventive Maintenance on Village of Delta Sewer Pumps. Yeas 2 Nays 0 Motion carried.
New Business:
Mr. Jerry Hicks with Madison Parish Police Jury discussed with Council Members a Bike Trail coming into Village of Delta.
Mr. Jerry Hicks also discussed Emergency Response with the Council Members.
Council Members discussed banning dangerous breeds of dogs from Village of Delta.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M
