Applications are being accepted for the position of TRUCK DRIVER with the Madison Parish Police Jury - Public Works Department. Under general supervision the individual would be responsible for the performance of skilled maintenance and construction work.
Duties include but not limited to:
Performs manual tasks involving loading, unloading, and transporting road materials(gravel, cold mix, debris) safely from barn, port, or other needed sites for road repair.
Able to haul heavy equipment.
Perform duties in other areas such as labor crew if circumstances dictate.
The applicant must have the following personal assets:
(1) knowledge of principles and practices of operating and servicing specialized construction and maintenance equipment; (2) knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing automotive equipment and safety precautions necessary for the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment; (3) physical strength, ability sufficient to do strenuous manual work under varying weather conditions, and (4) the ability to follow oral and written instructions. A CDL is required with an acceptable driving record
