Applications are being accepted for the position of Tractor Driver with the Madison Parish Police Jury - Public Works Department. Under general supervision the individual would be responsible for work of routine difficulty in the performance of manual labor.
Duties include but not limited to:
May operate light equipment such as weedeaters, lawnmowers , as well as tractors with rotary cutter on a seasonal basis. In addition, uses hand tools, brush blade, power saw, rake , broom, to complete manual labor tasks.
Perform duties in other areas such traffic control flagman.
The applicant must have the following personal assets:
(1) knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing automotive equipment operation; (2) knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary for the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment; (3) physical strength, ability sufficient to do strenuous manual work under varying weather conditions, and (4) the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
A CDL is required with an acceptable driving record
