More than 100 local children will be enjoying new bicycles this holiday season thanks to a local bike and toy giveaway.
Now in its fourth year, the bike and toy giveaway, sponsored by Firehouse Subs and Creed & Creed Injury Attorneys, gave away 165 bicycles this year, along with toys and other items.
The giveaway, which finished this year's activities Saturday at Tallulah Elementary School, was started by Tallulah native Eugune Whitney Jr. as way to give back to his hometown.
"I always look forward to giving back to my home," Whitney said Saturday. "I want to thank the [Tallulah] mayor [Charles Finlayson] for coming out and helping us give the bikes out today and thank all of our donors and everyone for the community support."
