For the second consecutive week, all three Madison Parish football teams came up short in their matchups Friday night. Madison High, Tallulah Academy, and Delhi Charter each suffered losses as their midseason struggles continued.
Madison High was unable to end its skid, falling 42-8 to Mangham. The defeat marked the Jaguars’ fourth straight loss and dropped their record to 1-4. Mangham, now 5-1, jumped ahead early and never let up, securing its fourth consecutive win. Madison will look to regroup this week when it hosts Rayville at 7 p.m. Friday. The Hornets’ defense has allowed an average of 32 points per game, presenting a possible opening for Madison’s offense.
Tallulah Academy faced a tough challenge against another top Mississippi squad, Porter's Chapel Academy, and fell 36-28. The defeat brought the Trojans to 3-4 on the season and evened Porter's Chapel’s record at 3-3. Both teams will hit the road this week, with Tallulah traveling to Tensas Academy for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday. The Chiefs have allowed an average of nearly 32 points per game.
Delhi Charter was handed its third straight loss after a 42-12 defeat to Oak Grove. The Tigers led 42-0 by halftime before the Gators managed to score twice late in the game. Delhi Charter now sits at 1-4, while Oak Grove improved to 5-1 with its fourth straight win. The Gators will host Ouachita Christian at 7 p.m. Thursday. The visiting Eagles have scored at least 31 points in every game this season.
All three parish teams will be looking to turn things around as they move into the second half of their schedules.
