On Thursday August 08, 2024 at approximately 7:51 p.m.., the Tallulah Fire Department was dispatched to motor vehicle crash on interstate 20 just past the mound overpass. Upon the arrival of the first units arrival, a tractor trailer and a transit van were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters deployed (2) 1 1/2 inch hand lines to bring the fire under control within 25 minutes after arriving. Unfortunately there was a fatality involved in this fiery crash. Thanks to all the firefighters who came out to help with this incident, also thanks to Mound and Delta Volunteer fire departments for water delivery and support, as well as Northeast Ambulance Service, Madison Parish Sheriff’s department and the Louisiana State Police.
