Maj. Gen. Jill Faris, the director of the Office of the Joint Surgeon General, National Guard Bureau and Sgt. Maj. Sherry Blackwell, senior enlisted advisor of the U.S. Army Medical Command, Reserve Affairs Directorate, presents Louisiana National Guard’s Combat Medic Program Director Sgt. 1st Class Howard Bushey, a Prairieville, Louisiana native, the Order of Military Medical Merit during an official ceremony, April 17, 2023, for his contribution to the Army Medical Department. The Order of Military Medical Merit is awarded to select individuals who have clearly demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, an outstanding degree of professional competence, served in the Army Medical Department for a minimum of 15 years with selflessness, and made a sustained contribution to the betterment of Army medicine.
