Residents of Tallulah can expect an unsettled start to the week with periods of showers and thunderstorms, gradually giving way to drier and significantly hotter conditions as the weekend approaches.
Recent Conditions
Over the past three days, Tallulah has experienced frequent rounds of rainfall, with the heaviest precipitation occurring on June 15. That day brought over an inch of rain, including 0.82 inches during a thunderstorm in the late afternoon. June 16 was similarly damp with nearly half an inch of rainfall recorded, largely due to persistent showers throughout the day.
Skies remained mostly cloudy, and humidity levels consistently hovered around 90%, contributing to muggy conditions. Winds were light, generally from the south, and pressure readings were stable near 30.00 inches of mercury.
Forecast Overview
Tonight through Tuesday (June 16–17):
Expect a continuation of wet weather, with showers likely overnight and a chance of thunderstorms by early morning Tuesday. Rainfall totals could add another quarter to half an inch. Tuesday’s high will reach the upper 80s, with a heat index near 98°F. Rain chances remain elevated at 70%, tapering off in the evening. Skies will begin to clear overnight, and lows will settle around 74°F.
Wednesday and Juneteenth (June 18–19):
Conditions turn mostly sunny and hot midweek. Highs climb to the low 90s Wednesday and Juneteenth, with heat index values peaking around 102°F. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible both days, but rain chances are modest—20% Wednesday and 30% Thursday. Overnight lows will remain mild, in the mid-70s.
Friday through Sunday (June 20–22):
A consistent pattern sets in: sunny skies, increasing heat, and only isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will steadily rise, reaching 94°F by Saturday. Sunday and Monday could feel even hotter with heat indices pushing beyond 105°F. Rain chances are minimal (20%–30%), and winds will stay light and variable, mainly from the south.
Looking Ahead
By the weekend, Tallulah enters a hotter and drier stretch. While each afternoon carries a slight chance of pop-up storms, the dominant weather story will be the building heat and humidity. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and avoid extended time outdoors during peak afternoon hours.
