Tallulah Elementary School has been honored by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) for its remarkable progress in literacy achievement. The recognition took place last week during the BESE Board Meeting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Superintendent Dr. Charlie Butler, Jr. attended the meeting and proudly accepted the award on behalf of the school, commending the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the school’s staff, scholars, and leadership.
Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Kimberly R. Pittman, Tallulah Elementary School has implemented innovative instructional strategies, targeted interventions, and a culture of excellence that has propelled literacy growth across grade levels. The school’s recognition is a testament to the hard work of its teachers, leadership team, staff, and scholars who have remained steadfast in their pursuit of academic success.
“This recognition reflects the heart of our mission,” said Dr. Pittman. “Our goal is to ensure that every scholar not only meets but exceeds expectations in literacy and learning. I am incredibly proud of our staff and scholars for embracing the work and proving that growth is possible when we all work together.”
Mrs. Lucille Lovett, K-12 Supervisor for the district, praised the accomplishment, noting that the achievement serves as a model of excellence for schools across Madison Parish. “The progress at Tallulah Elementary is a direct result of strong leadership, outstanding teaching, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every scholar,” Lovett said. “This recognition by BESE is well deserved and affirms the district’s commitment to building brighter futures for our students.”
Combined with this year with Wright Elementary School, the school continues to embody its vision of “Excellence Starts Here” and “Level Up: Building Leaders One Step at a Time” by focusing on literacy as a cornerstone of lifelong success.
