City Council Meeting
City of Tallulah
July 24, 2025
A regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council was held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Room Chamber of Tallulah City Hall.
Mayor Yvonne Lewis called the meeting to order, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and prayer was given by Councilmember Toriano Wells.
A roll call of Council Members is listed as follows:

At the outset of the meeting, Councilmember Wells called for amending the agenda to approve a forensic audit of the City resulting in action against any wrongdoings that might be found in the quest for public transparency. Councilmember Wells motioned for the transparency audit, but it died for lack of second,
The Council also voted to reinstate the standing agenda item of public comments.
Councilmember Wells moved for the approval of the occupational license of Joseph Williams, dba,
Superior Surface Service. Councilmember Houston seconded, and motion carried unanimously.
Motion to approve the occupational license submitted by Joe Cooper, dba, Country Boy Foods & Venue Center, was made by Councilmember Houston, seconded by Councilmember Houston, and carried unanimously.
Motion and second to approve corrected minutes of the Council meeting, June 25, 2025, were made by Councilmembers Houston and Day respectively and carried unanimously.
Motion for approval of corrected July 10, 2025 meeting was made by Councilmember Scott, seconded by Councilmember Day, and the subsequent roll call is shown as follows:

Motion carried.
Motion and second to approve minutes of a Special Meeting, July 17, 2025, were made by Councilmembers Houston and Scott respectively and carried unanimously.
Annual letters of Engagement are signed by the mayor regarding the annual upcoming financial audit of the City. Consequently, Motion and second to approve the City accepting the letters ad formal engagement of the audit were made by Councilmember Scott with a roll call from council members as follows:

Motion carried.
A brief period of discussion regarding city finances occurred for which was focused on General and Water funds and the indebtedness to General Fund due to Water Fund.
The meeting was adjourned, without motion, by Interim Mayor Yvonne Lewis.
