It was another tough week for two Madison Parish football teams, though Tallulah Academy notched a dominant win to move above .500 on the season.
Madison High extended its losing streak to six games Thursday, falling 54-12 to Ferriday. The loss dropped the Jaguars to 1-6, while the Trojans improved to 4-3. Madison had hoped to avenge last year’s 50-12 defeat to Ferriday but again struggled to slow the Trojans’ offense. The Jaguars will return home this week to face Delhi Charter at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tallulah Academy delivered one of its strongest performances of the season Friday, shutting out Riverdale Academy 58-0. The Trojans piled up 248 rushing yards, their highest total since September 2024. Shepard Morgan led the way with 99 total yards, while quarterback Aiden Harris threw for 104 yards and three touchdowns. The win improved Tallulah’s record to 5-4, while Riverdale fell to 0-8 and extended its losing streak to nine games. Tallulah will host Briarfield Academy this Friday at 7 p.m.
Delhi Charter dropped to 1-6 after a 32-6 loss to Rayville. The defeat marked the Gators’ third straight at home. Rayville reversed last season’s loss to Delhi Charter and continued the trend of the road team winning in this series. The Gators will visit Madison High for a district matchup Friday at 7 p.m.
