The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a wind advisory for Madison Parish and surrounding areas, effective from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the advisory, west winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour are expected, with gusts reaching up to 40 miles per hour. The affected area includes portions of northeast Louisiana, southeast Arkansas, and much of central and western Mississippi.
The weather service warned that strong winds could cause unsecured objects to move and may bring down tree limbs, leading to isolated power outages. Drivers of high-profile vehicles are advised to use caution, and residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items.
The advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
