BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) has commenced a search for its fourth President & Executive Director since 1962. LASM’s next chief executive will be a strategic, creative, and visionary leader tasked with nurturing and expanding the 61-year-old nonprofit museum’s current resources to best serve its diverse constituents.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President & Executive Director will play a pivotal role in implementing the museum’s strategic plan and vision, ensuring sustainable financial management, fostering personnel development, spearheading fundraising initiatives, overseeing program development, and cultivating community relations for the museum.
Scott Gaudin, Executive Vice President of Currency Bank, who serves on LASM’s Board of Trustees, will also serve as Chairman of the Search Committee. Regarding the search, Gaudin emphasizes the unique opportunity this role presents:

The ideal candidate will have five (5) or more years of organizational leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit museum setting, and an advanced degree in a relevant field. Strong financial management, fundraising, personnel management, and communication skills are essential.
