NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana National Guard’s 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 244th Aviation Regiment is scheduled to hold a departure ceremony at the Army Aviation Support Facility #1, in Hammond, Louisiana, Dec 2 at 11 a.m.
Approximately 70 Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1-244th will be deploying to Kosovo to assist the Kosovo Force (KFOR). KFOR is a NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
The 1-244th has deployed overseas five times since 9/11.
