NEW ORLEANS – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) is pleased to announce Cox Communication’s sponsorship of Love the Boot Week 2023, an annual statewide litter cleanup and beautification event happening April 17-23. This partnership aligns with Cox Conserves, Cox Enterprises' national sustainability program.
“Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s mission to reduce and prevent litter and waste parallels with our enterprise-wide goal to send zero waste to landfill by 2024,” says Erin Monroe, Cox’s Greater Louisiana Market Vice President. “We are happy to support Love the Boot Week, and our employees look forward to serving as environmental stewards and encouraging more people get involved in this important initiative to beautify our state.”
Cox’s $5,000 sponsorship will support KLB’s efforts to expand Love the Boot Week and distribute more litter clean up supplies to groups throughout the state.
In addition to sponsoring Love the Boot Week, Cox Communications will support the statewide litter removal effort by holding three cleanup events in the parishes of East Baton Rouge, Orleans, and St. Martin.
“When we all work together, Louisiana’s businesses included, we can tackle our state’s litter severe litter problem,” says Susan Russell, Executive Director of KLB. “We commend Cox’s sustainability goals and look forward to growing our partnership.”
In 2022, Love the Boot Week engaged 8,476 volunteers in removing 293 tons of litter from Louisiana at 280 registered events. To date, more than 350 Love the Boot Week events have been registered for 2023.
Everyone in every parish is invited to register a cleanup or beautification event and/or sign-up to volunteer for Love the Boot Week at www.lovetheboot.org.
