Tallulah and Winnsboro's first "Mini Health Fair" was held Wednesday in Tallulah at he Louisiana Delta Community College campus.
ASN program students ranging from LPNs (licensed nurse practitioner) to RNs (registered nurses) organized the event, in coordination with Allied Health's Dean of Nursing Dr. Danita Potter.
The event's theme was nursing - preventative maintenance with a focus on women's health, breast health, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer awareness.
Students developed research and presented the data on poster boards, provided handouts, blood pressure screenings, and opiod-awareness and drug-deactivation information.
Potter said the group is comprised of 11 students who are "committed to nursing excellence and improving practice."
