SALE OF ADJUDICATED IMMOVABLE PROPERTY AS SURPLUS PROPERTY BY THE PARISH OF MADISON
By virtue of the provisions of Chapter 13-A of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statues and Louisiana Revised Statue 33:4712, the Parish of Madison has received a request to sell That of Lot Seventy-Five (75) Holt Addition described as follows: Beginning of said of Lot Seventy-Five (75) of Holt Addition to the Village of Tallulah, Louisiana, together with all buildings as per Plat Recorded by Frank L. Roe, surveyor, November 23, 1945, in Conveyance Book CR: 331, Page 488, Records of Madison Parish, Louisiana, together with all building and improvements located thereon. This sale is made and accepted subject to a mineral reservation in Vendor’s deed of acquisition. Said property having a municipal address of West Leve Street, Tallulah, Louisiana (GEO 010072200) as adjudicated surplus property. Nellie Harrison c/o Kenneth Everfield of Holt Street, Tallulah, LA. 71282, has been identified as a party who might have a vested or contingent interest in said property, subject to cancellation upon request and payment of the Clerk’s fee pursuant to Article 3367 of the Louisiana Civil Code. The property was adjudicated to the Parish for unpaid 2012 taxes. The sale will take place in accordance with the provisions of Louisiana Revised Statue 33:4720.11 et seq. Unless the property is redeemed and all payments required by Louisiana Revised Statue 33:4720.17 are made prior to the recording of the Act of Sale, the interest of the parties identified above will be terminated by the recordation of the Act of Sale of the property. The time designated for acceptance of Bids is 10:00 am. Anyone wishing to offer a higher price for the property, or wish to oppose the property being declared surplus, or wishing to oppose the sale must file a written offer or written opposition with the Madison Parish Police Jury alone with a certified check or money order in the amount of $100.00 per property payable to the Madison Parish Police Jury by 10:00 am. September 8, 2025. The minimum bid shall start at the less of the 2/3 Appraised Value. In addition, there is a $500.00 administration fee which will be added to the sale price. These funds should be in the form of certified check or money order only. Please note that the property/properties will be sold to the highest bidder. The Purchaser, if not the applicant, shall also be responsible for the reimbursement of Title Exam, Appraisal Fee and Police Jury Fees if they are the successful bidder. Bidding will take place on the First Floor of the Courthouse Building, Room 3, Madison Parish Police Jury Meeting Room on September 8, 2025 at 3:00 pm.
