AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CITY OF TALLULAH ORDINANCE NUMBER 2020-08-02, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 12-175.1(A), WAS INTRODUCED ON JUNE 12, 2025, AT A REGULAR CITY OF TALLULAH COUNCIL MEETING.
A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE AMENDEMENT TO THE ORDINANCE WILL BE HELD ON JULY 10, 2025, AT 5:30 PM AT TALLULAH CITY HALL. AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING, THE COUNCIL WILL RECONVENE AND CONSIDER ADOPTION OF THE AMENDMENT TO CITY ORDINANCE 2020-08-02, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 12-175.1(A).

CURRENT VERBIAGE OF CITY OF TALLULAH ORDINANCE 2020-08-02, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 12-175-1(A):
The Chief of Police has the authority to impose curfew sanctions and restrictions for emergency situations including, but not limited to, emergency situations that threaten human life, property and the overall safety of the citizens and the community.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT VERBIAGE FOR CITY OF TALLULAH ORDINANCE 2020-08-02, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 12-175-1(A):
The Chief of Police, with Council approval, has the authority to impose curfew sanctions and restrictions for declared emergency situations, including, but not limited to, emergency situations that threaten human life, property, and the overall safety of the citizens and the community. This curfew may be enforced for a maximum of thirty (30) days, with the possibility of extension pending review of the declared emergency.
