Funeral services for Valente Saldana were held at 3 p.m., Tues., March 21, 2023, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with visitation being from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
Saldana
Saldana passed away Wed., March, 15, at his home in Tallulah, at the age of 62. He was born Feb. 22, 1961, in Monroe, La., to Benigno and Elena Iruegas Saldana. He was a father to two daughters, Rachel and Quanita Saldana, and grandfather to Avery, Joshua, Hayden, Corey, and Ryder.
Saldana loved to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family “just hanging out and drinking cold ones.” When he could, he would be found on the fishing banks casting a line trying to catch that big one. His sense of humor was second to none. He loved to laugh and have a good time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elena and Benigno Saldana; brothers, Rauel Saldana and Benigno Saldana Jr.; and his oldest daughter, Rachel Saldana.
He is survived by his youngest daughter, Quanita Saldana; five grandchildren, Avery, Joshua, Hayden, Corey, and Ryder; and siblings, Gregorio Saldana and wife Alanna, Benito Saldana and wife Kelly, Felipe Saldana and wife Charlene, Miguel Saldana and wife Sandy, Santiago Saldana and wife Stacy, Lenor McLin and husband Steve, Julian Saldana, and Adelita Rodriquez and husband Jose.
Pallbearers were Maria Self, Tom Saldana, Miguel Saldana Jr., Mario Saldana, Clarence Cox, aka Pig, and Dave Cox, aka Ham.
Special thanks goes to Lenor, Maria, Quanita, Desslina, Selena, and Miguel Jr. for taking care of him and doing everything y’all did for him so that his last days were peaceful.
