On Sunday, October 26, 2025 New Light Baptist Church (NLBC) dressed in Pink and hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Moment for members and attendees. NLBC shared recent Center for Disease Control (CDC) data which showed that on a yearly basis, there are more than 270,000 diagnoses of breast cancer and 42,000 reported related deaths among American citizens.
Breast Cancer is an equal opportunity disease that prefers women but will affect men. One of every one hundred victims are men.
There is no known preventive defense against Breast Cancer. Your current best defense is awareness and early detection. More importantly, NLBC urged attendees to conduct weekly self-checks, schedule annual mammograms, and encourage others to do the same.
Breast cancer is survivable. Be initiative-taking in your preventive health measures and aggressive in attacking the disease. Ladies (and men), please get screened! Remember, WHERE YOU LIVE SHOULD NOT DETERMINE IF YOU LIVE!
