The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NEDHSA) will host its upcoming Northeast Delta Talk (NED Talk) Road Tour on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Tallulah Community Center, bringing together students, educators, and community leaders from Madison and East Carroll parishes. The event is open to the general public, and all community members are encouraged to attend.
The NED Talk Road Tour is an innovative outreach initiative designed to address key social factors that influence substance use, mental health, and overall community well-being. This event will engage students from Madison and East Carroll parishes, along with community members, by offering age-appropriate education and interactive dialogue focused on prevention and healthy decision-making.
The program agenda includes remarks from Tallulah Mayor and NEDHSA Board Chair, Mayor Yvonne Lewis, school district updates from superintendents in both parishes, and educational sessions on tobacco-free living and prescription drug misuse prevention. Featured presenters include public health experts from the Louisiana Public Health Institute, licensed behavioral health professionals, and NEDHSA’s Prevention and Wellness team.
“Our goal with NED Talk is to meet young people where they are and have honest, meaningful conversations that empower them to make informed choices,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, Executive Director of the Northeast Delta Human Services Authority. “By partnering with schools and community leaders, we are building stronger, healthier communities across the Delta.”
NEDHSA extends special thanks to the Madison and East Carroll Parish Opportunity Zone Coalition for their collaboration in planning this impactful event.
