NATIONAL SUMMARY
Scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms will move
through the Great Lakes region and into the Northeast
tomorrow. Thunderstorms will expand southward from southern
West Virginia, through central Mississippi and Alabama. Much
of the rest of the nation will be dry. Although much of the
Southeast is relatively cool, heat will linger over Texas,
Louisiana and Arkansas. Much of the West will be warm with
pleasant conditions expanding across much of the Rockies.
Meanwhile, in the Caribbean, Tropical Storm Ian is forecast
to continue strengthening as it approaches the island
nations of Jamaica and Cuba. The storm could hit Florida as
a hurricane next week.
