The Nation's Weather for Friday, September 8, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms will expand in coverage throughout
the day tomorrow as a disturbance crawls slowly across the
East Coast. This will bring the risk for heavy rain from the
high terrain of the mid-Atlantic northeastward into New
England as slow-moving downpours develop. Thunderstorms will
also occur from the Southeast coastline into much of Florida
and westward through the central Gulf Coast as a cold front
advances across the region, with storms also building along
the tail end of the front in Louisiana and far eastern
Texas. A separate storm will bring showers and some
thunderstorms into northern sections of the Intermountain
West, namely Montana and northern Wyoming, with most of the
Northwest, Southwest and the Great Lakes regions remaining
dry.
