NATIONAL SUMMARY
Afternoon thunderstorms in northeastern Pennsylvania and
upstate New York to central and southern New England can
bring flooding downpours, hail and damaging wind gusts
tomorrow. An isolated tornado is not completely out of the
question, especially in western and central Massachusetts.
Elsewhere, afternoon thunderstorms are expected to rumble
through North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, Minnesota and
northwestern Wisconsin. Widespread severe weather is not
expected, but a few of the storms could turn strong.
Afternoon storms will dot the Rockies. Much of the country
will continue to endure intense summer heat. Portions of the
Southwest and central and southern Plains are likely to have
temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Widespread 90s
will roast much of the Ohio Valley and Southeast.
