The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, May 9, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
With a warm and humid air mass in place across the South
tomorrow, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in
the region. These storms will generally stay below severe
limits, but can produce localized heavy rain. Farther north,
from Pennsylvania into New Jersey and Delaware, a few
morning showers are likely. In the Plains, storms are
expected to develop across Kansas during the afternoon,
pushing into western Missouri later in the evening. A few
storms may be severe, with damaging winds and hail both
possible. A few additional showers, possibly with a rumble
of thunder, will occur over the northern Plains. In the
Northwest, while a bit of light rain may linger over Montana
and northern Idaho, a drying and warming trend is expected.
