The Nation's Weather for Thursday, May 4, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers will again dampen the Northeast tomorrow, especially
during the midday and afternoon hours. Thunderstorms during
the late afternoon and evening hours can contain flooding
downpours, hail, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes
from southwestern and south-central Kansas southward to the
Big Bend of Texas. That zone can shift eastward into central
and eastern portions of Oklahoma and Texas overnight.
Meanwhile, late-season showers will continue to affect
California, with snow at the highest elevations. A steadier
rain can even fall during the morning hours in coastal
Southern California. Farther inland, afternoon thunderstorms
can dot much of the northern and central Rockies. Louisiana
eastward to Florida and northward to the Carolinas can
expect a dry day.
