The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, April 19, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a storm system begins to push east of the Rockies,
thunderstorms are set to develop tomorrow across much of the
Plains and Midwest states. Some of these storms are likely
to turn severe, extending from Texas to Minnesota, and later
eastward into Illinois later in the evening. Hail, damaging
wind gusts and even a few tornadoes will all be possible due
to these storms, in addition to heavy rain and frequent
lightning. Farther north, across central and northern
Wisconsin and Minnesota, a steady rain can be expected,
potentially mixing with snow or freezing rain near the
Canada border. A few rain and snow showers will also be
ongoing in northern New England. Periods of rain and
mountain snow will continue in the Pacific Northwest and the
Rockies, from Colorado northward.
