The Madison Parish Chamber of Commerce will once again begin meeting in an effort to get the organization up and running again. "We stopped meeting during COVID and we just never really got going again afterwards," said Mary Trichell, Vice President of the group. "I think it's vital that Chamber begins meeting again and that we get the community and business owners involved. Chambers of Commerce are important because they are really a voice for local businesses and a way to help our community grow."
The Chamber will hold its first lunch meeting on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 1200 pm (noon) at the Richmond Civic Center. Henry Thornton, META Community Development Regional Manager, will be the guest speaker at the kickoff meeting, providing an overview of the META project in Richland Parish. "I think Mr. Thornton is a great guest speaker as we get Chamber going again," Trichell said. "He can provide information on the META project for our businesses and job seekers. We also want to see if there is any way that Tallulah can benefit from the project. This is a great time for Madison Parish and we want to make sure that we are doing everything possible to showcase Tallulah and to build our business base," she said.
