Coach Levi Washington will return to the sidelines for the Madison High School Jaguars football squad as head coach for the 2023 season.
Washington returns for his second stint as MHS head coach after previously serving in the position from 2014-2018, when he compiled an overall record of 16-26.
Washington said he is eager to get back to work and build on the Jaguars’ successes, while working to correct the root causes of past seasons’ failures.

“Being from the city of Tallulah, seeing the kids, I want to get back and get things moving in the right direction again,” Washington said. “I’ll meet the guys this coming Monday and we’re going to get to work on summer workouts.”
Washington also said a spring game has been finalized and will take place Thurs., May 18, between Madison High School and Rayville High School. The game is tentatively scheduled to be held in Tallulah at 6 p.m.
Washington comes back to Tallulah after having spent seasons as offensive coordinator at Wossman High School, as well as the last four seasons as OC at Richwood high school, where he also coached track.
Washington replaces former MHS head coach Milton Green. In two years as head coach, Green led the Jaguars to an overall record of 5-14, including a 3-7 mark during the 2022 season.
