Tallulah Academy was up 36-0 before the first quarter had wound down Friday night in a home matchup with the Union Christian Academy Lions.
Brayson Morson and J.T. McDaniel teamed up for the Trojans' first two scores and 2-point conversions, all on the ground, with Morson striking first and McDaniel adding the extras both times.
With the Lions giving TA great field position throughout most of the first quarter, the Trojans' first offensive possession from its own territory ended with quarterback Hayes Hopkins finding Charlie Vinining for a long touchdown pass to give the home team a 22-0 lead.
The Trojans' defense recovered a bad Lions' snap at UCA's 25-yard-line on the next play from scrimmage and TA capitalized with a 5-yard touchdown run from Gage Palmer. Palmer also snagged a pass from Hopkins for the 2-point conversion and the Trojans padded it's lead, up 30-0.
Hopkins found Laken Wilder through the air for another long TD pass late in the first quarter and TA led 36-0 before UCA's Jordan Jackson found the end zone late in the first half.
Midway through the third quarter, Jackson found pay dirt once again for UCA, but the Trojans answered the touchdown with a rushing score from McDaniel, set up by a long run from Cayden Allen. Backup quarterback Luke Moberley found Cade Morgan in the end zone through the air for 2 and the Trojans extended its lead to 44-12.
The Lions found the end zone once more late in the game, tossing a touchdown against the Trojans' backup defenders, but it wouldn't be nearly enough to derail TA's third win of the year.
The 44-20 victory keeps the Trojans perfect at home and 3-2 on the season.
