The Tallulah Academy Trojans will have something to prove Friday night when the team hits the field at home to open the 2023 season.
After an 11-2 season in 2022 that saw the Trojans finish as state runners-up, the TA will be looking to get back to the title game in 2023.
The Trojans begin the 2023 season Friday night with its home opener versus the Tensas Academy Chiefs.
The Chiefs finished 9-2 in its 2022 campaign, with a 3-1 district record.
The Chiefs and Trojans did not meet during the 2022 regular season and both squads will be looking to start 2023 with a win.
The Trojans will also be looking to develop leadership on a team replacing several starters, including 2022 quarterback Dee Morgan. The Trojans also bring back a number of weapons on both sides of the ball, including senior running back Brayson Morson.
Kickoff for Friday’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at R.A. “Racer” Holstead Memorial Stadium.
